Customers and friends joined the staff of A&M Wood Specialty Inc. in
welcoming Master Luthier, Michael Schreiner, and esteemed Lutenist,
Terry McKenna to our second Musical Instrument Makers’ Open House. This event attracted over 90 participants from as far
as Quebec, New York, and Mattawa, ON.
|
 | Michael Schreiner generously gave an informative, interesting and
concise presentation on the reproduction of four types of stringed
instrument. Namely: the
Six Course Lute, Theorbo, Baroque Guitar, and the Romantic Guitar |
 | Terry Mckenna’s beautiful playing expertly demonstrated the difference in
tone and playing styles associated with the corresponding instruments. Terry was also very accommodating in giving everyone
an up close look at each of Michael’s finely crafted instruments. |
 | Our appreciation goes out to those visitors who were kind enough to
bring their own work to display at the Open House. Many
of the woods used to build them were sourced through A&M. It’s always a treat to see how talented our customers
are. |
 | Thank you to all who
attended. We look forward to another event like
this in the future. |
